Source Control Transfer Stations

Transfer Stations

The Alberta Capital Region Wastewater Commission (ACRWC) has five sewage transfer stations within their jurisdiction.  Sewage taken to these stations is conveyed through a wastewater transmission network to either the ACRWC Wastewater Treatment Plant or to EPCOR's Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant.  At these plants the sewage receives treatment before it is discharged into the North Saskatchewan River.

The transfer stations are designed to accept domestic wastewater from residential homes and industrial, institutional and commercial facilities that are not connected to a sanitary sewer system.

Only process wastewater from industrial, commercial and institutional locations shall be discharged if the wastewater is acceptable - check the bylaw requirements in the applicable municipality.  A sample of the wastewater may need to be collected and analyzed to ensure all limits are met prior to the wastewater being discharged at the transfer station.
